6. Customer Care Representative
Typically, this is a 40-hour a week position that involves the handling of inbound customer calls.
Your primary duties will focus on listening to customer concerns, both positive and negative ones, in order to clarify circumstances and resolve issues.
The level of education required for this type of position varies according to company guidelines attached to each job. It is essential that you have an exceptional level of patience, enabling you to speak to clients calmly and evenly.
This is an important position as your duties will involve responding to customer concerns, improving customer retention, and promoting new products, services and programs. You will need to have an excellent telephone manner and be able to think on your feet to handle any unexpected questions or queries. The company will expect you to commit to a certain amount of hours each week. Starting work late or knocking off early is not optional.
You may also be able to find telesales jobs that allow you to work from home. This may involve cold-calling customers and attempting to sell a product or service. Depending on the company you work for and their product, you could be contacting other businesses or residential homes.
Another form of this job is where you are presented with a client list and have to contact them regarding special offers, new products or maybe upgrading their current product or service. You will also need to have a firm knowledge of the company and its products, services and policies.
